These days, it seems farming equipment is doing more with rigs getting bigger and heavier. Just in time for the fall harvest in North America, Michelin announced its latest tire. The Michelin CerexBIB 2 with IF and VF CFO+ are now available in seven rear sizes and nine front sizes. It’s designed to push the load and pressure limits for combine harvesters and other large harvesting equipment.
The new tire with Michelin’s CFO+ offers functioning at a lower pressure. It improves traction in all conditions because of the larger tread footprint, excellent service life due to a casing of reinforced sidewalls. It is better for on-road travel since it lets the farmer use a narrower tire to carry the load. The thread itself is designed to increase traction, fuel-savings and improve safety.
The tire is still new so there aren’t many reviews yet out on the market, and there really isn’t a competitor on the market for this tire type. However, the tire was tested in 80 trials amongst others in the industry such as the Bridgestone VT Combine IF CFO tire, Trelleborg TM2000 tire and a MITAS SFT CHO tire in size 900/60R32.
The tire is available now at Michelin Ag tire dealers in the U.S. and Canada.
